The Military High School in Edirne was first built in 1846 on the land of Tekfur Palace.Later, Edirne Military High School was moved to the building known as Harbiye Barracks, which was completed in 1871.The L-planned Harbiye Building of the barracks has two floors. The north facade of the building is horizontally divided into two with window floor mouldings and eaves cornices. The gaps outside the windows are built with one row of cut stone and two rows of bricks with alternating technique.
There are 11 window openings on the ground floor and 8 window openings on the first floor of the façade.The eastern façade and western façade of the building are symmetrically arranged.The section with the flat arched entrance door in the middle of the façade is designed outside the façade.One row of ashlar stone and two rows of brick alternating masonry is used on the façade.The unplastered walls create a decorative appearance.The short wing of the L-shaped building was built as a single storey.There are five windows on the south façade and 11 windows on the north façade.
On both facades, one row of cut stone and two rows of brick alternating masonry were used.The door opening in the center of the west facade, where the main entrance of the building is located, has round arches and cut stone jambs.There are two overhangs on both sides of the door, which are animated by four windows, one above the other.The hall is reached from the main entrance on the west facade.There are 4 marble columns in the hall covered with marble and covered with a flat ceiling. These marble columns carry the weight of the upper floor.There are four rooms in the north and south of the hall.The rooms after the entrance open to the hall with two windows and a door from the west to the outside.The building's construction inscription is located on the wall here.The hall and the rooms have flat ceilings.
