Hasan Ali Yücel Children Museum

Hasan Ali Yücel Children's Museum, which was opened by Edirne Municipality in 2018 on 29 October Republic Day, is a social responsibility project based on scientific values, pedagogical and psychological values and offered to the service of children.

Hasan Ali Yücel Children's Museum is a unique institution that develops the concept of children's museum inspired by examples from around the world and makes a difference in the field of museology in this mission, produces added value, prioritises education, knowledge and experience.

All educational programmes in the museum are designed to support and enrich the acquisitions in the Ministry of National Education's pre-school, primary and secondary school curricula. While structuring the exhibitions, collections and educational programmes in the museum and carrying out the practices, effective cooperation is carried out with academicians and teachers who are experts in their fields at national and international level. The administrative staff and educators working in the museum have received professional development training from experts competent in museum education.

Our museum is built on an open area of 12.000 m2 and we have 6 open and 5 closed areas where we implement interactive education programmes with children. Our outdoor areas consist of Biological Pool, Paleontology, Archaeology, Glacier, Entomology and Engineering Island. Our indoor areas where we organise interactive training for our students; Wildlife and Benevolence, Veterinary Medicine and Love, Environment and Respect, Traffic and Tolerance and Science and Art areas. We also have 1 cafeteria and 1 cinevision area.

In the outdoor area (biological pond, paleontology, entomology and glacier island) we have a total of 24 butaforums. Some of them are loud and animated. In these areas, concepts such as the beginning of life, pangea, paleontology, paleontology and archaeology are discussed and we aim to reveal children's critical thinking skills.

In closed areas, values come to the fore. The values of benevolence, love, tolerance and respect are taught and supported by drama and games.

Various learning opportunities are offered to children through exhibitions, programs and workshops in indoor and outdoor areas. The aim of these activities is to create different out-of-school learning environments for children aged 4-7 and 7-12 and to provide permanent learning by having fun, doing and experiencing.

It welcomes its visitors as a private museum affiliated to Edirne Municipality.
