There are some shrubs, annual and perennial herbaceous and woody plants important for nectar, pollen, honey flower and propolis in the vegetation of Thrace Region.
Blackthorn (Paliurus spina-christi Miller) is one of these plants and its growing area is Edirne, Kırklareli and Çanakkale. The flowering period of the plant is May and June and the plant can be seen in all areas where arid, stony and forest cover is removed.
Yellow coloured flowers are an important nectar source for bees. The best part of this honey is that it is the closest to organic honey.
