Dry Beans; It is the pulses with the highest cultivation area and production in the world. In our country, its cultivation area takes the third place after chickpeas and lentils. Dried beans, which are rich in protein, are indispensable for our tables.
It is especially preferred as a second crop in our province. It is a suitable plant for crop rotation. In addition, dried beans, a type of legume plant, regulates the structure of the soil where it is planted and adds nitrogen to the soil.
Keşan Mahmut village dry beans, which have been applied for Geographical Indication, are thin-skinned rooster type dry beans grown in Edirne and Keşan district Mahmutköy village.
The grains are medium-sized, oval, plump, spotless, white and shiny, cook quickly and do not peel while cooking.
