It was built on the Tunca River near Sarayiçi in the northwest of the city. In 1451, Şahabettin Pasha, one of the important statesmen of the reign of Murat II. Şahabettin Pasha, one of the important statesmen of the Murat Period, built it. It is 120 metres long and 5 metres wide. The 11-legged, 12-arched and stone bridge's arches on both sides remained under the soil. The bridge, whose middle arch collapsed in 1702, was extended by 50 metres when it was repaired by Sultan Mustafa II. Since Saraçhane neighbourhood is located to the east of the bridge, it is also known by this name.
