Saraçhane Fountain +

The fountain, which takes its name from the nearby Saraçhane Bridge, has a square form. The height of the fountain is 5.50 m. and its width is 3.70 m. The fountain has three facades and there is a niche with pointed arches on the north, south and west facades. The eastern façade is kept simple. There is a relief rosette on the arch keystone. There is a mirror stone made of marble in a pointed arched niche. In the centre of the mirror stone there is a sliced deaf arch eye and a large rosette in the centre of the arch eye. There are grape vine branches on both sides of the rosette. A modern tap is placed between the grape vine branches. An eight-armed star motif is carved on the right arch corners. In the borders surrounding the mirror stone, there are cartouches added to each other on the vertical axis.

The border at the top of the mirror stone has a composition formed by alternating rows of palmettes and tulips. The water trough on the west façade was removed due to the rising road code. The water trough on the left side of the pointed arched niche in the fountain protrudes from the façade in a square shape. There is a flat marble panel above this water trough. The north and south facades of the fountain also repeat the front facade. The difference of the front facade from the other facades is the presence of a watering trough and an inscription. The compositions on the mirror stones in the niches differ on all three facades.
