It was built in 1994 in the memory of 300 thousand martyrs who responded to the enemy occupation in the Balkan War and 20 thousand martyrs who were condemned to death in 1913 in Sarayiçi without food or water. Organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the martyrdom has names from every corner of Turkey. There is also the Balkan Martyrs Monument built in 1939 in the same area.
