With 58 hectares of woodland, Sarayiçi Chicken Forest is one of the important promenade areas of Edirne. According to a rumour, this place was called Chicken Forest because it was a place where thousands of chickens were raised in ancient times. There are many medicinal plants in Sarayiçi Chicken Forest. The hunting lodge built by Sultan Mehmet IV, known as Mehmet the Hunter, in 1671 is also located in this forest. This forest, which is very suitable for cycling in the summer months, is popular in the summer months.
